healthy vegan friday #5

I hope you’ve all had a splendid week! And if you haven’t, well at least it’s over right? And if it’s Friday, you know what that means- why it’s time for more healthy vegan deliciousness! Healthy Vegan Friday!

For those of you who don’t know, Healthy Vegan Fridays is a new weekly blog hop hosted by myself, Shelby @ Everyday Vegan Girl and Carrie @ Carrie on Vegan. It is a place to share your healthy vegan recipes that make use of whole ingredients and minimize the use of processed and refined foods. The recipes shared on this link up are intended to emphasis the beauty, creativity and benefits of a healthy, plant-based diet!

Last week was another great round, with so many awesome submissions, it made me wish there were 5 of me so I could cook up every single one!

Most Popular Submissions

raw brownie balls, raw peanut butter oatmeal balls. healthy cookies, no sugar cookies

Raw Brownies and Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies from Emily @ Triumph Wellness

Delicious raw delights that are a snap to make and are full of wholesome ingredients to justify eating more than a couple! I am imagining a cookie sandwich with these- two brownies with a PB cookie filling?

Easy Quinoa Pizza Crust and Vegan Pizza from Rachel @ Almonds & Avocados

A pizza crust made with no flour! That’s jus awesome and it looks like it would totally hold it’s own underneath a mountain of vegan toppings!

Vegan Goat Cheese from Kristina @ Spabettie

I don’t miss cheese very often, but goat’s cheese was one of my favourites and I am so happy I now have a delicious looking and easy substitute for it!

And now for my top 3 picks. You guys really don’t make it easy for me do you? Choosing only 3 is an almost impossible task. But, as your host, I gladly accept the challenge!

Favourite Main Event: Eggplant Non-Parmesan from Caralyn @ glutenfreehappytummy

A grain-free version of eggplant parm! I love this dish and ate it a lot as a vegetarian. Now as a gluten-free vegan, I would love a replacement for this dish and Caralyn’s sounds amazing!

Favourite Sensible Snack: Caramelized Onion Hummus from Cindy @ Vegetarian Mamma

It’s like Cindy was in my head! I have been devouring a store-bought version of this lately- now I can make it at home any time a craving hits!

Favourite Indulgence: Banana Walnut Bread Breakfast Parfait from Raechel @ rebel grrl kitchen

Ok so this is actually a breakfast, but how amazing would this be for dessert? Banana soft serve, millet, and walnuts- sure to be a delicious but wholesome treat!

If you haven’t checked out last week’s submission’s please check them out! You won’t regret it! Well I mean unless have TOO MUCH inspiration is a problem for you ;)

Now to get right into this week’s edition!

My submission this week:

Tahini-Dill Pasta Salad

The last few weeks I’ve submitted sweet recipes so I decided to mix it up by sharing a savoury one! This is a delicious and fresh pasta salad that would be a great addition to those final barbeques of the summer.

So, if you have a healthy vegan recipe (or 2) to share, please add it to the list below! If not, feel free to browse the submissions and get inspired! You can also check out our Facebook page and Pinterest Board and feel free to tweet about it using the hashtag #VeganFridays.

You don’t have to be vegan to submit, just needs to be a vegan recipe. So share that creativity of yours!

  1. I made the quinoa pizza and I loved it! It took a couple of bites to get on to it , but before long….place look of shame here…. I had eaten the entire pizza! I also changed up the recipe a bit . Made it in a cast iron pan in the oven and flipped it after 20 minutes. Rather than cooking it for an additioanl 10 minutes before adding the ingredients, I added them right away cos I wanted them warmer than just under the broiler. Now trying the remaining recipes from Vegan Friday :)

  2. Yummy!!! SO many delicious things here! I can’t wait to start clicking to these recipes. Today Im sharing my raw peach crumble and vegan blueberry cardamom ice cream. Have a great weekend Gabby and everyone!

  3. Yay, glad you liked my hummus recipe! :) Happy to share it! This week I shared Apple Pancakes which are gluten free and vegan. I hope that you can stop by Gluten Free Fridays and link up a recipe or two and also list yourself in the blogger tab, if you haven’t already :) Cindy

  4. Hiya Gabby! So many great recipes, so little time! Thank you so much for hosting again! This week, I submitted my portobello tacos. :-)

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  5. Happy Friday, Gabby!! Thank you so much for highlighting my Eggplant Non-Parmesan! :) and also, thanks for hosting! THis week, I shared my Beet and Broccoli Pesto Blooms as well as my Carrot Cake Bites!! They’re both Gluten/Grain Free, Vegan and Specific Carb Diet SCD Friendly! Have a great weekend!

  6. Happy Healthy Vegan Friday! ;) I am so with you, I feel this way every day with all of the amazing recipes I find on blogs! Those raw bites look so absolutely delicious! I definitely need to try the quinoa pizza crust. It sounds great! Caralyn’s recipes are always amazing, I have a huge list of recipes to try and that parfait! OMG yum! I still need to make the banana coconut cream pie oats! Yum!

Tahini dill pasta salad sounds amazing. What a great combo! I’ve been trying to think of a recipe to share this week but since my appetite has been so bad I can’t think of anything to submit. Maybe I’ll come up with something new over the weekend to submit :)

Have a great Friday Gabby! And as always, thanks for hosting!

    • Haha sounds like you have some cooking to do! I hope you feel better soon so you can get to it!

No rush on submitting, you have till Tuesday :) hope you have a good weekend! Try and rest up so we have our happy Sarah back!

  7. Woo! I made the big-time! : ) Thanks so much for hosting this! And, yes, I called it ‘breakfast’, but it was one of the most indulgent breakfasts I’ve had, so it is probably more appropriate as a dessert. : )

  8. Hi thanks for hosting, I submitted one post, but it actually contains five recipes. I don’t know if that is a problem, since there’s a maximum of two. But if I had to choose one of them, I would go for my high raw red pepper soup pictured above. Happy friday!

  9. Wow, I know exactly what you mean, so many great recipes and not enough time to make them all. That quinoa pizza base looks amazing. I didn’t realise it could be so easy to make your own healthy pizza. I can just imagine it topped with that caramalised onion hummus pizza with that vegan goat cheese on top. Yum! I used to adore hummus pizzas. If you’ve never had one you’ve been missing out.
This week I’ve shared my weight loss story, how I lost 56 pounds with a vegan diet and green smoothies, and a peaches and cream green smoothie that can help you beat your coffee cravings once and for all.
