healthy vegan friday #10

Happy Friday my plant-based peeps!

So how have everyone’s weeks been? Mine’s been busy as usual, with lots of school and work. I’m really settling into life here in Toronto although I am finding it all very exhausting. I think I need to start taking more time for myself again- I’ve gotten so accustomed to saying yes to everything that comes my way, that I forget saying no is an option. Do any of you find you get into a pattern of pleasing everyone else and forgetting to look after yourself?

That being said I am still really enjoying my life here- I love the city, my classes and the people I’ve met. All things considered, being a little tired is a small price to pay!

Anyway, today we are here for another Healthy Vegan Friday!

For those of you who don’t know, Healthy Vegan Fridays is a new weekly blog hop hosted by myself, Shelby @ Everyday Vegan Girl and Carrie @ Carrie on Vegan. It is a place to share your healthy vegan recipes that make use of whole ingredients and minimize the use of processed and refined foods. The recipes shared on this link up are intended to emphasis the beauty, creativity and benefits of a healthy, plant-based diet!

Last week was another awesome party, thanks so much guys! Here’s the recap:

I’ve been eyeing these ever since I first saw them! Caramel and bananas are never a bad idea!

Now it’s time for Healthy Vegan Friday #10!

My submission for the week:

Red Velvet Smoothie with Beets!

This smoothies tastes like a cake it’s so delicious, but manages to squeeze in some veggies and superfoods! Take advantage of all those beets at the markets!

  1. The raw banana caramel crackers were my favourite post this week, glad you featured them! I was out of town this weekend, too busy to participate, but will for the rest of October for sure! Hope school is going well.

  2. That lentil soup from last week looks soo good! I am traveling this weekend but can’t wait to be back home for quiet Sundays of soup making. Last winter, I discovered lentils and I’m excited to try some new recipes too!

  3. I’m so glad to hear that you’re loving your new home and I think it’s great that you’re starting to make time for yourself- that is so vital to one’s health and happiness!

This week, I’m submitting my Mushroom Cheddar Frittata. Thank you for hosting, Gabby, and have a great weekend!

    • It really is Kristy! Since I’ve been here I felt like I couldn’t say no too any opportunity, but I’m definitely starting to feel comfortable enough to say no when I need too :)

Amazing recipe choice :) Have a lovely weekend my dear!

  4. Thanks a bunch for featuring my tart as one of your favorite this week, Gabby! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. :D

This week, I’m submitting my Herbed Balsamic Tofu with Cherry Tomatoes and Shallots, perfect for the dwindling down of summer.
