healthy vegan friday #19

wow the 19th healthy vegan friday! so crazy! that you all for making this blog party possible! i look forward to looking at your recipes each week and am always impressed.

for those of you who don’t know, healthy vegan fridays is a weekly blog hop hosted by myself, shelby @ everydayvegan girl and carrie @ carrie on vegan. it is a place to share your healthy vegan recipes that make use of whole ingredients and minimize the use of processed and refined foods. the recipes shared on this link up are intended to emphasis the beauty, creativity and benefits of a healthy, plant-based diet!

recap of last week:

most popular submissions

quinoa with caramelized onion and zucchini from janet @ the taste space

this looks like a great, simple week night meal that sounds so fresh!

raw nut-free chocolate bites from lou @ fridge scrapings

so great to have a raw option that is also nut free! plus they’re chocolate so that’s always a plus :)

pumpkin cinnamon rolls from rachel @ almonds and avocados

do i really need to say anything here? and the ingredients are super healthy. don’t know how she does it!

my top picks

favourite main event: bean and eggplant loaf from sandy @ vegans eat yummy food too!

i’ve never seen a loaf quite like this and it sounds delicious!

favourite sensible snack: how to make the perfect green smoothie from ali @ farmers market vegan

while often eaten at breakfast, a green smoothie makes a great snack too! filling and nutritious!

Wassail Tall 200x300 Popular Holiday Wassail

favourite indulgence: popular holiday wassail from sasha @ one small vegan

this isn’t a huuuuge indulgence but i think this warming fruity and spicy drink is just the treat for this cold season!

now it’s time for healthy vegan friday # 19!

my submission for the week:

cherry chocolate chip cookies

a delicious dessert without all the awful refined stuff- oat and almond flour combined with a little brown rice syrup and applesauce for sweetness, these are wholesome but super tasty!

so, if you have a healthy vegan recipe (or 2) to share, please add it to the list below! if not, feel free to browse the submissions and get inspired! you can also check out our pinterest board and feel free to tweet about it using the hashtag #VeganFridays. feel free to grab our button (code is on the sidebar) to help promote this even and show your vegan pride.

you don’t have to be vegan to submit, just needs to be a vegan recipe. so share that creativity of yours!

just so everyone knows, shelby is taking a little break from blogging for now, so it’s just me and carrie hosting! hope life quiets down for you soon shelby!

thanks and happy friday!

  1. Thanks for putting a link to my post! I’m not real good at taking pictures but I promise you the loaf tastes delicious! I hope you get a chance to try it! :-)

  2. Ooooh everything from last week looks delicious! THose cookies are calling my name for sure too. Love chocolate and cherries together. I also see a lot of great recipes in this week’s submissions that I’d like to make as my holiday treats this year! Love Healthy Vegan Fridays :)

  3. I can’t believe you’ve been doing this for 19 weeks. I can still remember when you started this! :-)
I’m adding my Double Chocolate Birthday Cake this week. The frosting is sugar-free! Thanks, as always, for hosting Gabby! It’s great to have healthful places to link up!

  4. Mmm those cookies look tasty. I’m not much of a cranberry person, but things always seem to taste better in cookie form ;p
I haven’t got around to buying xanthan gum yet, I should probably do that.
What kind of Stevia do you buy?

  5. What an amazing round up! Those cookies and chocolate bites look amazing – who says’ healthy eating has to be boring – if they say that they need to come over here and join the party to see what they are missing!

  6. Happy Friday to you too! I shared my Creamy Gingerbread Cookie Cup recipe (of course!!) Not only is it a yummy holiday treat-it’s healthy!! No refined sugars, and dairy free milk…nothing better than a healthy treat that says happy holidays! Hope you have a great weekend Gabby!

  7. Eek! I accidentally uploaded my link without the picture, and now I can’t redo it until the first link comes down. Any chance you can take my link down so I can re-upload it? Thanks, Gabby, sorry about that!

      • I haven't added anything back in just yet… although I licked some tomato paste from a can and boy was that sweet! I never knew! I also feel like my tastes have changed as well… I may start adding in some tart fruits though.  I still really want to make a green papaya and jicama salad. :)
