how’s everyone doing today? i don’t know about you guys but i am really glad it’s friday. this week was quite hectic again and the end of it means it’s that much closer to when i go home for about a week for christmas! plus it’s also healthy vegan friday time so that’s pretty awesome, no?
for those of you who don’t know, healthy vegan fridays is a weekly blog hop hosted by myself, shelby @ everydayvegan girl and carrie @ carrie on vegan. it is a place to share your healthy vegan recipes that make use of whole ingredients and minimize the use of processed and refined foods. the recipes shared on this link up are intended to emphasis the beauty, creativity and benefits of a healthy, plant-based diet!
recap of last week:
most popular submissions

homemade vegan pizza from chasity @ my healthy chef
who doesn’t like vegan pizza?? i’ve actually scouted out a great organic vegan pizza here in toronto, but it’s a little pricey- so this is perfect for recreating it!
red lentil and spinach curry (vegan tikka masala) from janet @ the taste space
janet got another top 3 pick! and i’m not surprised, look how delicious that looks?

bite-sized turtle candy bars from rachel@ almonds & avocados
i remember in my prevegan days i loooved turtles, especially at christmas, so i love that rachel not only veganized them, but healthified them!
my top picks
favourite main event: indian-spiced bean and tomato soup from tammy & david @ our neck of the woods
indian spices with tomato is such a warming combination! I love that this was prepared as a soup instead of a stew over rice!

favourite sensible snack: chai-spiced holiday nog from veronica @ veggie v’s vegan adventure
i chose a “nog” recipe last week too but i couldn’t resist. clearly i’m into indian spices this week too. love the combination of the spices with the holiday drink!

favourite indulgence: guilt-free pecan pie cookies from megan @ allergy free alaska
these are super clean and grain-free to boot, and look how delicious they look!
now it’s time for healthy vegan friday # 21!
my submission for the week:
this homemade nut milk is perfect for cold weather! the spices warm you inside and out while the hazelnuts make a luxurious and sweet non-dairy milk. perfection!
so, if you have a healthy vegan recipe (or 2) to share, please add it to the list below! if not, feel free to browse the submissions and get inspired! you can also check out our pinterest board and feel free to tweet about it using the hashtag #VeganFridays. feel free to grab our button (code is on the sidebar) to help promote this even and show your vegan pride.
you don’t have to be vegan to submit, just needs to be a vegan recipe. so share that creativity of yours!
just so everyone knows, shelby is taking a little break from blogging for now, so it’s just me and carrie hosting! hope life quiets down for you soon shelby!
thanks and happy friday!

I can’t believe Chanukah is already over now, it went by so fast. I’ve decided that I’m going to adopt Christmas this year too, since I don’t want the holidays to be over yet! Besides, there are still so many delicious festive foods to enjoy, as your roundup makes so abundantly clear. There’s plenty left to celebrate!
